This is a moderately helpful beginner's book for making pineapple quilts. The authors use their version of a pineapple ruler, which is helpful in trimming the blocks and getting them square. The designs are interesting but not brilliant. The book is not worth the outrageous prices that are bring charged by the used book vendors. It is still available out on the Internet at the original price as is the ruler. You will be disappointed if you spend $40 on this. Purchase "Trash to Treasure" by Gyleen Fitzgerald (she also makes a ruler that she uses in the book) if you are looking for unique design information or "Fresh Pineapple Possibilities" by Jane Hall and Dixie Haywood for paper piecing techniques that will have your pineapple quilt singing.Old reliable pineapple quilt pattern and technique book. The basics are all there & it is inspiring & encouraging for you to carry on with your own adaptations.I got this book for a class making Pineapple quilts with scraps. It had many ideas for different blocks and layouts. I love this book, it seems easier to make without too much measuring, I like that.As I already owned the ruler, it was vital for me to find this book! It has great directions and pictures with many ideas for quilts. I highly recommend it to anyone who desires to make a pineapple quilt (and the ruler also!).I really like this book.
